Sniezek, Hurricanes Earn Walkoff Win

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Henry Sniezek singled to right with two out in the bottom of the seventh to score Joe Degere and give the Hoosac Valley baseball team an 8-7 win over Mount Greylock on Thursday.
 
Degere reached with a one-out single and moved up on a wild pitch.
 
After a fly ball, Sniezek drove the first pitch he saw to score Degere and give the Hurricanes a walkoff win and their fourth victory in five outings.
 
John Krol earned the win on the mound with 2-1/3 innings of relief of Sniezek, who allowed five runs but just one earned run in 4-2/3 innings of work.
 
The Hurricanes had a 6-0 lead after two innings, but Mount Greylock tied it with six in the top of the fifth.
 
After Hoosac Valley regained its lead in the bottom of the fifth, Oscar Low drove in Josh Polumbo to tie it again in the top of the seventh.
 
Phil Guest went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs for Mount Greylock.
 
Sam Larabee homered, and Zack Boulger and Luc Trombley each doubled for the Hurricanes.
 
Hoosac Valley (6-5) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.
 
Mount Greylock (5-4) goes to Wahconah on Friday.
