WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Chase Doyle struck out six to earn a five-inning, complete game win on the mound Thursday as the Mount Greylock baseball team defeated Belchertown, 11-1.

Doyle helped his cause with a double and four RBIs in a seven-hit Mount Greylock attack.

Tej Patel also doubled, and Thomas Art went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs.

The Mounties jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back in improving to 11-2 with their fifth straight win.

“I was really happy how we jumped all over them right from the get go,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said. “We had a shutdown inning, then came in and put up seven runs, and I believe six of those were even before we had an out.

“Tommy Art had a great game also at the plate today as our DH. In the first he had a great bunt with runners on first and second. It was so good, he ended up with a single and bases loaded.”

Mount Greylock hosts McCann Tech on Saturday morning.
