Hoosac Valley Baseball Edges Monument Mountain

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Keagan McGrath went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in on Monday to lead the Hoosac Valley baseball team to a 5-3 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Noah Matrigali was 2-for-3 at the plate and pitched an inning of scoreless relief to pick up the save.
 
The win went to Devin Kogut, who went six-plus innings, scattering nine hits.
 
Joe Aberdale had two of those hits, including a double, for Monument Mountain, which got a 2-for-3 day at the plate from Nate Cormier.
 
The Spartans (2-2) host Pittsfield on Wednesday.
 
Hoosac Valley (2-3) goes to Taconic on Tuesday.
