Marchbanks Powers Pittsfield Baseball Past Spartans

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Christian Marchbanks went 4-for-4 and drove in five runs Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 14-5 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Jake Taylor was 2-for-4 with a double, and Owen Kroboth and Chase Racine each drove in a pair of runs in the win.
 
Marchbanks, Connor Lavinio and Josh Lavinio split time on the mound for Pittsfield, combining to strke out six.
 
Arthur Labrie led Monument Mountain at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. 
 
The Spartans used four pitchers. Collin Parker was tagged with the loss after 2-1/3 innings of work.
 
Monument Mountain (1-2) hosts Mount Greylock on Thursday.
 
Pittsfield (2-1) is at Mount Greylock on Friday.
