Grober RBI Gives Monument Mountain Walkoff Win

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Kade Grober took a 1-1 pitch back up the middle to score Kyle Gochey in the bottom of the seventh and give the Monument Mountain baseball team a 3-2 win over Pittsfield on Wednesday.
 
The Spartans rallied for two runs in the seventh to get the win.
 
Caleb Carlson, who pinch ran after Mike Goretti hit a one-out single to start the rally, scored when Sam Cormier reached an error to make it 2-2.
 
Graham Herrick went 2-for-3, and Jared Henry drove in a run for Monument Mountain.
 
Henry also got the win on the mound, striking out seven while scattering five hits and allowing one walk.
 
Hunter Potash was the hard-luck loser for Pittsfield, not allowing an earned run in a 6-1/3 inning performance. He struck out one and allowed five hits.
 
Marco Dinicola went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Joe Cracolici drove in a run for the Generals (4-6), who  host Mount Greylock on Friday.
 
Monument Mountain (5-1) goes to Wahconah on Thursday.
