Traversa's Big Day at Plate Leads Pittsfield Past Hoosac Valley

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Joe Traversa went 4-for-5 with a triple and two runs batted in Monday to lead the Pittsfield baseball team to a 14-3 win over Hoosac Valley.
 
Carter Matthews and Marco DiNicola each went 3-for-4, and Christian Marchbanks doubled for the Generals.
 
Marchbanks also pitched a clean seventh inning in relief of starter and winner Ryan LaPierre. LaPierre struck out six and walked one while allowing no earned runs.
 
Logan Keyes went 2-for-3 at the plate for Hoosac Valley (2-12), which goes to Lenox on Wednesday.
 
Pittsfield (8-6) takes a four-game winning streak into Wednesday’s game at Wahconah.
