Racine Homers as Generals Come Back to Top Pope Francis

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Chase Racine hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to ignite a six-run rally that sent the Pittsfield baseball team on to a 7-4 win over Pope Francis.
 
Racine’s round-tripper cut a four-run deficit down to one.
 
Will Kinne then reached on an error and ended up scoring on Walker Abdallah’s two-out single to tie it. Another error allowed Abdallah to score to give the Generals a 5-4 lead.
 
Michael Grady then drove in Charlie Heimann to give the Generals a two-run advantage.
 
In the bottom of the sixth, another Cardinals’ error allowed Racine to score after he reached on a single.
 
He finished the day 3-for-3 with a homer and a double to lead Pittsfield’s offense. Abdallah went 2-for-2.
 
Patrick Rindfuss got the start on the bump. Ben Cornish came on to throw five innings of one-run relief and earn the win, striking out five and walking four.
 
Pittsfield (5-6) is scheduled to host Holyoke on Wednesday.
