PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Izaiya Mestre singled and ended up scoring on a two-out error in the bottom of the eighth inning to complete a 5-4, come-from-behind victory for the Taconic baseball team on Wednesday.

Springfield Central jumped out to a 4-1 lead with a three-run fifth inning on Pellerin Field at Clapp Park.

Taconic rallied for three in the bottom of the sixth to tie things up.

Anthony Whiteley singled to left with the bases loaded to drive in Ryan Abel and Mestre to make it 4-3. Devon Walker went to third on the play and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jack Cooney.

Mestre led off the eighth with a single, went to second when Cooney reached on an error and came home when Jack Flynn also reached on an error -- just the Eagles’ second miscue of the game.

Flynn earned the win on the mound with two innings of one-hit scoreless relief. Jake McNeice threw five innings before giving the ball to Ross Omelenchuck, who pitched a scoreless sixth.

McNeice went 2-for-4 with a double at the plate.

Wednesday's game was moved to Buddy Pellerin Field because of field condition issues at Taconic High.

Taconic (9-0) is back at Clapp Park on Saturday to take on city rival Pittsfield at 2 p.m.
