HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Christian Womble struck out seven and allowed one run over five innings to lead the Taconic baseball team to a season-opening, 11-2 win over Holyoke on Wednesday.

 

Womble also went 2-for-5 with a double at the plate in an 10-hit Taconic attack.

 

Brendan Stannard went 2-for-4 with a triple. Dylan Burke went 2-for-4, and Ryan Gaudette doubled.

 

Leesandro Colon drove in a run for Holyoke.

 

Taconic (1-0) goes to Harwich to play Cape Cod Tech on Friday.
