PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Christian Marchbanks singled to drive in Luke Mele with two out in the bottom of the seventh Monday to give the Pittsfield baseball team a 4-3 win over Mount Greylock.
Michael Grady started the winning rally by drawing a leadoff walk. He moved up to second on a passed ball but was erased when Mele grounded into a fielder’s choice.
Mele then stole second and took third on an error. Patrick Rindfuss was hit by a pitch, and Owen Kroboth worked a walk to load the bases with two out.
Marchbanks drove a 3-1 pitch to center field to score Mele and win the game.
Marchbanks was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in in a four-hit Pittsfield attack. Jake Taylor also had a hit.
The Generals used four pitchers. Jack Wildgoose worked a scoreless top of the seventh, striking out one, to earn the win.
Derek Paris went the distance on the mound for the Mounties, allowing just two earned runs.
Oscar Low went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Jack Gitterman singled and scored a run in the loss.
