LEE, Mass. -- Mike Naventi went 2-for-3 and singled in a decisive three-run rally to lead Lee to a 5-2 win over Mount Everett in opening day for both teams on Friday.
The Wildcats had a 2-1 lead going to the sixth thanks to a two-run second inning that started with Naventi's single to left.
Colin Durkin also singled, and Naventi and Cam Redstone each scored to put Lee up, 2-0, early.
Cooper Rothvoss scored in the fourth for the Eagles to make it a one-run game.
In the sixth, Lucas Bombardier and Dylan Ely each drew walks for Lee to help load the bases for Naventi as the Wildcats extended their lead to 5-1.
Mount Everett fought back with two outs in the bottom of the second, stringing together hits by Kolby Bleau, Rothvoss and Jacob TenBroeck to score a run, but Lee was able to record the final out to end it.
The Wildcats go to Monument Mountain on Saturday. Mount Everett hosts Hoosac Valley on Tuesday.
