FITCHBURG, Mass. -- The St. Bernard’s boys lacrosse team took a 13-3 lead at half-time and went on to a 20-4 win over McCann Tech in the first round of the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.

“St. Bernard’s was obviously pretty dominant,” McCann Tech coach Paul Lange said. “They are deep and skilled and athletic. … We seemed to hang with them through the first six minutes or so, but St. Bernard’s came on strong after that.”

Darian Tovani had a hat trick, and Colby Ghidotti scored for the Hornets, who finish the year 11-9.

“I know I am proud of these boys and so are their parents, families, friends and school,” Lange said. “The seniors on this team deserve a lot of credit. Justin Horn and Lane Hughes gave their all on defense. Zavier Martin Levesque and Evan Knapp played hard up and down the field. And Brandon Sargent played well on attack.”
