CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Aubrey Rumbolt scored the tying and winning goal in the last three minutes to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to an 11-10 win over Pittsfield on Wednesday afternoon.

“Aubrey Rumbolt continues to lead the offense and settle things down when needed,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “Aubrey had a great deal of composure in the second half especially and used that to her advantage, scoring the final goal with 32 seconds left in the game. She then won the draw and maintained possession until the end.”

Rumbolt finished with three goals and an assist. Claudia Bresett scored four goals and set up one for the Hurricanes (3-2).

Emily Kestyn had a hat trick, and Jacey Salvie scored a pair for the Generals (0-4), who jumped out to a 5-2 lead early and led 7-5 at the half.

“We did not come out ready to play today,” Meczywor said. “We lost most of the draws and ground balls in the first half and PHS did a good job of taking advantage of our lack of play.

“The second half was a different story, however. We started holding possession longer and made better passes in transition which led to four goals in the second half.”

Abi Disbrow stopped 12 shots to earn the win in goal for Hoosac, which travels to Wahconah on Monday.

“Three wins is the most in program history,” Meczywor said. “I'm proud of the girls for continuing to play with heart and determination every game.”

Pittsfield travels to Mount Greylock on Monday.
