CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Alie Mendel scored five goals on Tuesday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to an 11-8 win over Pittsfield.

Aubrey Rumbolt and Claudia Bresett each scored a pair of goals, and Abi Disbrow made six saves in the win.

Sierra Murray and Sareen Sistrunk each scored a pair for the Generals, who got seven saves from Anna Quinto.

“Pittsfield has improved tremendously this season; they worked hard all game and won a great deal of ground balls to transition to offense,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Mezcywor said. “Our goalie, Abi Disbrow, had a stellar goal in game.”

Hoosac Valley (8-5) finishes the regular season on Monday at Pope Francis in Chicopee.

Pittsfield (0-14) hosts St. Mary’s of Westfield on Thursday.
