DALTON, Mass. -- Emmy Cote scored five goals and had an assist to lead the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to a 17-8 win over Hoosac Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

"This was a great game for both teams," Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. "Each team had moments where they dominated. Hoosac worked hard and just kept coming at us."

Jurdan Budaj and Perin Genaway each scored four goals for Wahconah (5-2), which got eight saves from Katie Bachli and a stop from Olivia Lamont in relief.

Hoosac's Holly Cadran scored three times, and the Hurricanes picked up goals from Ella Suters, Aubrey Rumbolt, Claudia Bressett and Allie Mendel. Monica Vallieres made six saves for Hoosac Valley (0-2).

The Hurricanes travel to Williamstown on Saturday to play Mount Greylock.

But first, Mount Greylock has to deal with Wahconah on Friday under the lights.
