WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Katie Bachli made six saves to backstop the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to a 6-5 win over Mount Greylock on Thursday

“Today we showed our maturity and growth as a program,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “Greylock usually comes back and today our defense stood tall. This is always a battle between us and I'm sure our next meeting will be as well.”

Perin Genaway, Emmy Cote and Jordan Budaj each scored two goals for Wahconah (11-3), which avenged an 8-7 loss at Mount Greylock earlier this spring.

Mount Greylock (12-2) got two goals apiece from Sarah Stripp and Emma Polumbo. Julia Whitney stopped four shots in the Mounties’ goal.

Mount Greylock hosts Wesfield on Saturday.

Wahconah goes to Pittsfield on Tuesday. Round 3 between Mount Greylock and Wahconah is scheduled for May 23 in Dalton.
