DALTON, Mass. -- Katie Bachli made 15 saves, including the 500th of her career, Thursday to lead the Wahconah girls lacrosse team to a 13-7 win over Hoosac Valley.

“She had a fantastic game in net and she definitely has become a force,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “Being a goalie is a thankless job, and she has been the backbone of our defense.”

Offensively, Wahconah got four goals and an assist from Emmy Cote, and two goals and three assists from McKenna McIlquham. Natalie Diesz and Jordan Budaj also scored two goals apiece.

For Hoosac Valley, Alie Mendel had a hat trick, and Sara Tomkiewicz and Claudia Bressett each scored twice.

Abi Disbrow and Aubrey Rumbolt combined to make seven saves for Hoosac Valley (5-4), which hosts St. Mary’s of Westfield for a double-header on Monday at Cheshire Elementary School.

Wahconah (8-2) hosts Mount Anthony of Bennington, Vt., on Friday night.
