DALTON, Mass. -- The Mount Anthony Union girls lacrosse team Friday built a 9-3 half-time lead and hung on for a 14-7 win over Wahconah.

Emmy Cote scored twice and assisted on a pair of goals, and Katie Bachli made 13 saves for Wahconah.

“We came out slow against a talented team,” Wahconah coach Kathy Budaj said. “When you play quality teams like Mount Anthony, you have to play the full 50 minutes. Our second half was significantly better. They are a great team and a game like this will help us build on things that we will see from tournament teams.”

Jordan Peck, Hannah Ronayne, Jordan Budaj, McKenna McIlquham and Suzie Stefanik each scored a goal for Wahconah (10-3), which saw a five-game winning streak come to an end.

Wahconah hosts Lee on Tuesday.
