Mount Greylock Girls Lax Pulls Away from Hoosac in Second Half

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sarah Stripp scored six goals and Emma Polumbo added five Monday to lead the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team to an 18-11 win over Hoosac Valley.
 
The Hurricanes, who got five goals from Alie Mendel and four from Aubrey Rumbolt, were within a pair at half-time, trailing the Mounties, 9-7.
 
Claire Sheedy had a hat trick, and Lauren Aliberti scored twice for Mount Greylock, which got a combined 13 saves from the tandem of Autumn Delorey and Hannah Byrnes in goal.
 
Abi Disbrow made nine saves for Hoosac Valley.
 
The Hurricanes (3-2) go to Pittsfield on Wednesday.
 
Mount Greylock (4-1) hosts Manchester, Vt.’s, Burr & Burton Academy on Wednesday.
