EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. -- The East Longmeadow girls lacrosse team finished the game on a 6-2 run to earn an 11-8 win over Mount Greylock on Friday night.

Emma Polumbo had a hat trick and Clare Sheedy scored twice for the Mounties, who got a goal and an assist from Carolyn Jones.

“We played really well and battled back into the game a few times,” Mount Greylock coach Lindsey von Holtz said. “Our defense played as a cohesive unit and communicated well. Due to injuries, we had low numbers and the midfield showed impressive endurance. Unfortunately we turned the ball over in the attack end too often and East Longmeadow beat us in ground balls.”

Autumn Delorey played a strong game in goal with seven saves.

Mount Greylock (2-2) hosts Wahconah on Tuesday.
