GRANBY, Mass. -- Carolyn Jones scored six goals, and Christy Rech made 11 saves to lead the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team to a 13-11 win over Granby on Thursday.

Sarah Polumbo scored four times, Tess Leveque had two goals and an assist, and Emily Mole added a goal as the Mounties spread out the offense.

"I think Mount Greyock benefitted from a slightly more balanced offensive effort with scoring contributions from more players," Mounties coach Steve Jones said. "Both sides had limited benches and needed incredible efforts from their starting lineups. Many of the girls on both sides played the entire game.

"The Mount Greylock midfield is made up entirely of underclassman which speaks well for the program going forward."

The win marked the first time a Mount Greylock team in any sport has competed outside of Berkshire County since the winter of the 2019-20.

Mount Greylock (5-0) travels to Lee to take on the Wildcats on Tuesday.
