Manchester Essex Edges Mount Greylock Girls in State Quarters

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, Mass. – Paige Garlitz and Mercedes O’Neil each had a hat trick Wednesday to lead the Manchester Essex girls lacrosse team to a 12-10 win over Mount Greylock in the quarter-finals of the Division 4 State Tournament.
 
Ainsley Abel scored a game-high four goals and set up a goal for the Mounties, who got three goals from Sarah Polumbo and a goal and three assists from Lucy McWeeny.
 
Mount Greylock finishes the year with a record of 19-4.
 
Manchester Essex moves on to face Nantucket in the state semi-finals on Friday.
