LEE, Mass. -- Alex Zuber scored four goals and assisted on another on Friday to lead the Pittsfield girls lacrosse team to its first win of the year, an 8-6 triumph over Lee.
"We had an amazing performance by Alex Zuber," Pittsfield coach Jenna Giardina said. "And we had a girl step up for her first varsity game, her second time in goal ever and she came out with 21 saves -- Tori Serre.
"Honestly, our team just came out fired up today. We faced Lee on Monday (a 10-8 loss) and had to come out and play them again. This was our third game of back-to-back-to-back games, and they really were just fired up and went for it."
She Hassett scored twice for Pittsfield, which got goals from Jacie Salvie and Gillian Campbell.
Emma Bartini scored twice for Lee (1-4), which got five saves from Liz Consolati.
The Wildcats travel to Hoosac Valley on Monday.
After a busy week, Pittsfield (1-6) gets a couple of days off before hosting Mount Greylock on Monday.
