WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Lauren Aliberti and Emma Polumbo scored four goals apiece to lead the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team to a 15-4 win over Pittsfield on Friday evening.
“Mount Greylock got off to a slow start, and PHS started out really strong,” Mounties coach Lindsey von Holtz said. “Once Mount Greylock got going, we played really well as a team and had some impressive passing in transition. The team was moving the ball well on offense as well.”
Von Holtz said Haley Reinhard and Hope Willis helped shut down the Pittsfield attack, limiting the the Generals to 13 shots on Mounties keeper Julia Whitney, who had two stops on free positions among her nine saves.
Sarah Stripp had a hat trick, and Arianna Walden scored twice and had an assist in the win.
Lauren Curry scored twice, and Kristen Borelli stopped five shots for PHS (0-2), which hosts Lee on Monday.
Mount Greylock (2-0) travels to play Bennington, Vt.’s, Mount Anthony Union on Saturday.
