AMHERST, Mass. -- Tess Lyon scattered nine hits in a complete-game effort, and Mia Potash went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Pittsfield softball team to a 5-2 win over Agawam on Monday in the Western Massachusetts Division 1 semi-finals.

 

The second-seeded and defending sectional champion Generals (20-2) scored  four times in the third inning to take a 5-1 lead and never looked back.

 

Lexi Sondrini doubled and drove in a pair of runs, and Sarah McMahon went 2-for-4 in the win.

 

Lyon struck out a pair and walked one as Pittsfield topped Agawam for the third time this season.

 

On Saturday, Pittsfield faces No. 1 Minnechaug (18-2) at Sortino Field at UMass-Amherst in the sectional title game at 1:30.
