Mount Greylock Softball Puts Away Lenox Early

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Emma Newberry doubled twice in a 17-run first inning for Mount Greylock, which went on to a 27-4 win over Lenox on Thursday.
 
Newberry went on to go 4-for-5 with a home run and three doubles as the Mounties won their third straight game to start the season and their second straight in five innings.
 
Jordyn Codding went 2-for-4 with a triple and six RBIs.
 
Mount Greylock's Kamryn Sweet struck out one in the top of the first before handing the ball to eighth-grader Mia Filliault, who worked four innings in the circle to earn the win.
 
Hailey Ano went 2-for-3 for Lenox.
 
Lenox goes to Monument Mountain on Saturday.
 
Mount Greylock hosts Taconic on Saturday.
