SOUTHWICK, Mass. – The McCann Tech softball team Tuesday jumped out to a four-run lead in the top of the first, but Southwick responded and earned a 6-4 win.

Emma Moser doubled in a run, and Karlie Gregorie-Thomas had an RBI in the four-run rally.

Emily Glasier and Kyrsten Gazaille-Adams each had a pair of hits in a nine-hit attack for the Hornets.

“So happy with this team,” McCann Tech coach Robin Finnegan said. “Southwick pitched a no-hitter against us the second game of the season. For us to play the way we did today is definitely a step in the right direction. We put the bat on the ball against a very strong pitcher. The more experience we get the better we will be.”

Hannah Tatro struck out a pair and allowed seven hits for McCann Tech.

The Hornets (1-7) go to Franklin Tech on Thursday.
