SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Faith Angell struck out seven in throwing a perfect game Sunday that lifted the Mount Everett softball team to a 4-0 win over Granby in the Western Massachusetts Division 3 quarter-finals.

Angell got all the run support she needed in the bottom of the first when Gwen Carpenter singled and came home on an RBI single by Marion Devoti.

Devoti scored on a hit by Emma Goewey to make it 2-0.

It stayed that way until the bottom of the sixth.

That is when Makenzie Ullrich led off with a walk to start a two-run rally that included a hit by Jaclyn Derwitsch.

The second-seeded Eagles (14-7) move on to Wednesday's sectional semi-final at UMass-Amherst against No. 3 McCann Tech (16-5), a winner over Smith Vocational on Sunday.
