Schettini Leads Taconic Past Turners Falls

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Leena Schettini hit a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday to give the Taconic softball team a 12-run margin and a 16-4 win over Turners Falls.
 
Schettini went 2-for-3 with a double and scored three times in the win.
 
Rylee Paronto was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a walk, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances at the top of the lineup and scoring four times.
 
Brenna McNeice helped the cause by going 2-for-2 and scoring twice.
 
Paronto split time in the circle with Chey Goddard, combining to strike out eight.
 
Taconic (12-6) will learn on Friday who it will play in the quarter-finals of next week’s Western Massachusetts tournament.
