Cornell Leads Mount Greylock Softball Past Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Taylor Cornell went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs Tuesday to lead the Mount Greylock softball team to an 8-5 win over Taconic at the Doyle Complex.
 
The Mounties broke a 5-5 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh. Cornell, Marley Buffis and Kate Bernardy each had a hit in the rally.
 
Bernardy and Sam Trybus each had a pair of RBIs. Elena Cerveira went 2-for-5 with a run scored and a run batted in.
 
Lily Lesieur earned the win in the circle, striking out eight and allowing six hits and three walks.
 
Taconic’s Delaney Ivas went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Mary Lee struck out four in the loss.
 
Taconic (1-4) hosts East Longmeadow on Friday.
 
Mount Greylock (3-1) is at Lenox on Thursday.
