Mount Everett Softball Edges Mount Greylock

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Faith Angell struck out eight and scattered five hits as the Mount Everett softball team came from behind for a 4-3, eight-inning win over Mount Greylock on Thursday.
 
The Mounties jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, but the Eagles answered with one in the second and two in the fifth to tie it.
 
Gwendolyn Carpenter homered, and Sarah Beckwith went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Eagles.
 
Jordyn Codding homered for Mount Greylock, which got three strikeouts in the circle from Nakita Thompson.
 
The Mounties (11-8) finish the regular season on Saturday against Monson.
 
Mount Everett (11-6) goes to Lenox on Friday.
