Vale-Cruz Fans 18, Triples Twice to Beat Pittsfield

DALTON, Mass. -- Avery Vale-Cruz went 3-for-3 with two triples and a double and struck out 18 in the circle to lead the Wahconah softball team to a 10-4 win over Pittsfield at Pine Grove Park.
 
Vale-Cruz, who is averaging two strikeouts per inning through the first four games of the season, upped her batting average to .636 for Wahconah (3-1).
 
Casey Wilson doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs, and Kaylee O’Bryan and Kaitlyn Olds each doubled in the win.
 
Lexi Sondrini went 2-for-4 at the plate and stole a pair of bases to lead Pittsfield (3-2), which hosts Lee on Tuesday.
 
Wahconah hosts Mount Greylock on Monday.
