PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Jordynn Bazinet struck out 11, and the Pittsfield softball team pounded out 14 hits, including five doubles, to earn a 12-8 win over West Springfield on Monday.

Amanda Pou went 4-for-4 with a double, and Mia Arpante was 3-for-4 with a double.

The Generals broke open a 5-4 game with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 12-4 lead.

Pittsfield committed six errors to make six of the Terriers’ runs unearned.

“Jordynn was on again today,” Pittsfield coach Jim Clary said. “We did have some defensive miscues, but the weather does not help at all.

“We got timely hits, and the small game came into effect today. A few bunters here and there did their job.”

Pittsfield (7-4) takes a four-game winning streak into Wednesday’s home game against Mount Anthony Union.
