It was senior night for the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes and the Seniors definitely led the team to victory over the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils scored first in the first inning - taking the lead 1-0
the Hurricane seniors then led the charge to take the lead on the blue devils at the end of the first inning.
Tori Rumbolt returned to play for one inning for her senior night - playing shortstop for the Hurricanes for one inning - getting to catch a pop fly to end the first inning - and starting the Hurricanes off as the lead off hitter for the night smacking a double to left field. She then later scored one a single hit by Ashley Ciepiela. Later - Erin Girard belted a home run to secrue the lead 4-1
Hurricanes staved off Drury High Blue Devils as Drury High Blue Devils was unable to match Hurricanes down the stretch.
Drury High Blue Devils scored on a two-run home run by Amber Iacuessa in the third inning and an RBI single by Iacuessa and a groundout by Cat Record in the fifth inning. Despite its efforts, Drury High Blue Devils couldn't finish the comeback.
Erin Girard racked up three RBIs on one hit for Hurricanes.
Even though Caroline Tomkowicz allowed five runs over seven innings she still recorded the victory. She struck out five, walked two and surrendered five hits.
