Both offense and defense pulled together to bring home the win today.

St. Joe put the pressure on us from the 1st inning.  Sondrini bunted, Murphy moved her to 2nd on a bunt, after a strikeout Mazzeo bunted to Record  who threw to Iacuessa covering 3rd to put Sondrini out.  Then with Creamer up to bat, Olsen threw to LF Gavazzi covering 3rd to catch Murphy in a run down -- Gavazzi back to Olsen for the out.

I believe the outcome of the game would have different had we not responded to the pressure put on us in the 1st inning.

We then came back with 2 runs in the 2nd; a single by Howland, after an out, a base hit bunt by Vanuni and a 2 rbi doublle by Olsen.

We scored 2 more runs in the 5th;  after an out Brassard reached on an error, Record advanced her with a single and Iacuessa scored both with a double.

Iacuessa had the defensive play of the game in the 4th inning diving to her right and throwing the runner out at 1st from her knees.

Gavazzi was 2 for 2, Iacuessa 1 for 3 with 2 rbi's and Olsen  was 2 for 3 with 3 rbi's.

We are back on the road tomorrow (if it doesn't rain) at Hoosac Valley at 7:00 -- game time might be changed if it looks like rain late, then we will play at 4:00.
