SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Emma Goewey homered twice, including a grand slam, to lead the Mount Everett softball team to a 15-8 win over Lenox on Wednesday.
The Millionaires took a 4-2 lead in the top of the third after Hailey Ano hit a three-run home run.
But the Eagles quickly took control.
“We responded well in the bottom of the inning with 10 runs of our own with Emma Goewey hitting a two-run home run in the beginning of the inning and then a grand slam at the end of the inning,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Lenox hung tough though and plated four runs in the top of the fourth with us responding with three in the bottom of the fifth.”
Tori Gillmore went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, and Hudah Ngoy Nkulu went 2-for-3 and stole three bases for Mount Everett.
Mariah Broderick and Julia Devoti split time in the circle, combining to strike out three and allow five earned runs in the win.
For Lenox, Grace Julieano went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and Ano drove in three in a 2-for-4 afternoon.
Lenox hosts Putnam on Thursday.
Mount Everett (6-11) hosts St. Mary’s on Thursday.
