DALTON, Mass. – Avery Vale-Cruz went 4-for-5 with a home run and six RBIs to lead the Wahconah softball team to a 14-0 win over Chicopee in the quarter-finals of Western Massachusetts Class B tournament.

 

In the Circle, Vale-Cruz struck out 12 while allowing two hits and three walks as second-seeded Wahconah (18-1) advanced to Thursday’s regional semi-final against No. 3 Easthampton.

 

Ella Quinto and Taylar Hickey each went 2-for-3 with a double, and Emma Belcher had a pair of hits for Wahconah, which pulled away with six-run rallies in the fifth and sixth innings to end the game early.
