LENOX, Mass. – Eighth-grader Evelyn Julieano Thursday notched the 200th strikeout of her varsity career as the Lenox softball team beat Westfield Tech, 10-1.
Julieano went into the game needing seven strikeouts to reach the milestone and ended up with 12 on the day. She scattered five hits and allowed no earned runs in the complete-game win.
“Evelyn is one hardest working kids in the game,” Lenox coach Maggie Rivers said. “You can often find her perfecting her craft after practice or on the weekends at the field with her Dad throwing endless pitches. She never lets down for even a second and is so competitive.”
At the plate, she helped her cause by going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.
Amber Arseneau doubled in a run, and Amaya Alger went 2-for-3 and scored three times for Lenox.
The Millionaires (9-9) are home on Saturday to face Amherst-Pelham.
