PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Kam Renata had a triple, a double and three RBIs Tuesday to help power the Pittsfield softball team to a 9-3 win over Easthampton in the Sweet 16 round of the Division 4 State Tournament.
The third-seeded Generals (20-3) advance to host No. 6 Uxbridge on Friday on the East Street campus.
Uxbridge (20-2) advanced on Tuesday with a 2-0 win over East Bridgewater.
Pittsfield collected 18 hits in Tuesday’s win, including five extra-base hits.
Neveah Lopez went 4-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs. Mia Arpante was 3-for-5 with a double. And Natalie Arnhold doubled.
Amanda Pou struck out 11 in the circle and walked just one while allowing no earned runs.
Pittsfield, which advanced to the quarter-finals for the first time since the statewide tournament system was implemented in 2022, on Friday will look to get back to the state semi-finals for the first time since 2018, when it fell in the Division 1 Final Four after beating Northampton in the Western Mass final to qualify for the state semis.
This year’s Generals take an eight-game winning streak into Friday’s semi-final.
