NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Smith Academy softball team scored eight runs in the fourth inning, and McCann Tech made seven errors in a 12-0 Smith win on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Lauren Grondin went 2-for-5 with two runs scored at the plate and struck out six while allowing just one hit over five innings in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

 

Alanza Quinones had the hit for McCann (9-6), a double. Haley Malloy struck out five and gave up eight hits in the circle.

 

McCann travels to Southwick on Thursday.
