McCann Ends Regular Season With a Win

NORTH ADAMS, Mass — The McCann Tech boys' basketball team finished the regular season strong on Monday night, jumping all over Saint Mary's in the first quarter on its way to a 58-38 win at the Hive. The victory was the Hornets' third win in a row and leaves them with a record of 11-9 to end the season. Justin Kratz's team now awaits a possible berth in the state vocational tournament and their seeding in the upcoming Division 3 Western Mass. tourney. 

McCann picked up a victory on Monday night by outscoring the Saints 14-3 in the first quarter. The Hornets, who finished with a 7-2 record at home this year, kept the pressure on in the second quarter on their way to a 28-10 lead at halftime.

Senior forward Mike Chappell led McCann with 16 points, while junior guard Josh Superneau added 11. Anthony Garde was the leading scorer for St. Mary's with 10 points.
