SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Evan Heath scored 23 points, all in the second half, to help the Lee boys basketball team Friday come from behind to beat Mount Everett, 62-48.

Collin O’Brien scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half for the Wildcats, who trailed, 24-17, at half-time.

“Great hard fought win,” Lee coach Eric Cardinal said. “Lot of credit to Mount Everett. They played well and taught us a few things we need to work on. I was proud of the intensity we brought in the third quarter. Going into halftime down seven we started strong in the third led by Evan Heath’s 17-point third quarter. Evan lifted the whole team with his second half performance, and it opened up big man Collin O’Brien, who pitched in 12 as well as 11 rebounds.”

Declan Drozd scored 14 points, and Gabe Kelly added eight in the win.

“I was also happy with the play of senior captain Declan Drodz,” Cardinal said. “His effort doesn’t reflect on the stat sheet even with his 14 points, but he took control of the ball and controlled the offense which sparked our comeback.”

Michael Ullrich led Mount Everett with 17 points. Jack Carpenter added 14 for the Eagles (1-6).

Lee (2-3) hosts Mount Everett to finish the home-and-hom series on Monday.
