Bamba, Harrigan Key Fourth-Quarter Comeback for Taconic Boys

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Taconic boys basketball team Sunday outscored Sci-Tech, 25-15, in the fourth quarter to earn a 62-61 win and avenge its only loss of the season.
 
Sean Harrigan scored 22 points, including nine in that fourth quarter, which also saw Maimoudou Bamba score nine of his 11.
 
"The scoring the rebounding and the defense of Bamba down the stretch and the overall play of Harrigan, [Sam] Sherman and [Tayvon] Sandifer was tremendous," Taconic coach Bill Heaphy said. "A big boost early from Frank Boua set the physical tone.
 
"We fought through a lot of adversity and stayed resilient and focused. I was proud of the entire team."
 
Sherman finished the game with 12 points, and Sandifer added nine.
 
Taconic bounced back after a rough third quarter that saw Sci-Tech outscore the visitors by a margin of 23-5 to take a 46-37 lead going to the fourth.
 
Taconic (8-1) goes to Minnechaug on Monday, its third game in three days.
