Mestre, Taconic Boys Stay Unbeaten

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Izaiya Mestre scored 12 of his 26 points in a decisive second quarter Tuesday to lead the Taconic boys basketball team to a 66-47 win over South Hadley.
 
After a defensive struggle in the first quarter that saw Taconic take an 8-7 lead, the hosts outscored South Hadley, 23-12 in the second quarter to take control of the game.
 
Matt Stracuzzi scored 11 points with three 3-pointers, and Deonte Sandifer and Devon Walker added eight apiece.
 
Taconic (4-0) faces Lenox on Thursday at the Boys & Girls Club.
