Wahconah Boys Rally for Overtime Win at South Hadley

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Patrick McLaughlin scored 16 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the Wahconah boys basketball team Thursday overcame a 44-29 deficit en route to a 65-58 win over South Hadley.
 
“An incredible fourth quarter and overtime,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “The kids showed great composure and made big stops at the end of the fourth quarter and in OT.”
 
Wahconah outscored the Tigers, 22-7, in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
 
Brody Calvert went 7-for-8 at the line and hit a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter en route to a game-high 26 points.
 
McLaughlin scored seven in the fourth and nine in OT, going 5-for-6 in the extra session. He also had four assists.
 
Calvert had five steals to go with his game-high scoring effort.
 
Lucas Picard scored eight points in the win.
 
Wahconah (7-0) hosts Baystate Academy on Monday.
