Wahconah Boys Stellar at Line in Comeback, OT Win

DALTON, Mass. – Brody Calvert and Patrick McLaughlin each scored 25 points Thursday to lead the Wahconah boys basketball team to 74-66 overtime win over Belchertown.
 
Wahconah rallied from a 10-point deficit going into the fourth quarter to force OT.
 
McLaughlin scored 12 points in the fourth, which also saw Jesse Chapman score nine of his 17 points.
 
Wahconah won the game largely at the foul line, where they shot 35 of 40.
 
Calvert was 7-for-8 at the line in the overtime period.
 
Tyler McDonald scored 19 to lead the Orioles.
 
Wahconah (10-4) clinched a berth in the state tournament with the win.
 
It will work on improving its seed on Monday when it travels to Cheshire for a rematch against Hoosac Valley, which fell, 57-48, when the teams met in Dalton last week.
