SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — On Friday night, Taconic senior Treyvon Ringgold and Pittsfield senior Connor McDonough will be on opposite sides of an eagerly anticipated high school basketball showdown in the Shire City.

Three weeks later, the pair will be on the same side of a much more relaxed affair in the birthplace of basketball.

Ringgold and McDonough, whose teams will meet in the Western Massachusetts Division 2 quarterfinals on Friday at Taconic High, are among 11 Berkshire County seniors selected to play in the 2016 Western Massachusetts Senior High School All-Star Games at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Friday, March 25, event will feature three games starting at 5:30 on the Hall of Fame’s Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams.

The triple-header will open with a contest between two teams of boys pulled from Divisions 2, 3 and 4.

One of those teams will include eight players from Berkshire County: Hoosac Valley’s Jameson Coughlan and Matt Koperniak, Lee’s Josh Sampson, Lenox’s Patrick Colvin, Mount Greylock’s Zach Ronnow, Wahonah’s Cole Morrison, McDonough and Ringgold.

The second game, scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m., features two girls teams pulled from all four divisions. One of the teams include Drury’s Molly Moulton, Hoosac Valley’s Madi Ryan and Pittsfield’s Allie Hunt.

The evening will conclude with a game between two 10-team squads of Division 1 boys.
