Gidarakos Leads Spartans to Win Over Taconic

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Caden Gidarakos scored 15 points, and the Monument Mountain boys basketball team pulled away late in a 52-48 win over Taconic on Friday.
 
The Spartans (13-4) were up by one point with 3 minutes, 45 seconds left in the fourth, but went on a 9-4 run to push their lead to 52-46.
 
"Caden Gidarkos was huge for us, coming off the bench to score 15 points," Monument Mountain coach Randy Koldys said. "We needed him badly.
 
"Kenzel Chandler-Ellerbee was another one who gave us a big lift, scoring 11 points and securing 10 rebounds for us. Adam Kronenberg and Eddie Boyko gave us big minutes with their interior presence."
 
Connor Hanavan scored 13 points in the win.
 
For Taconic, Frank Boua scored 14, and Devan Solomon added 12.
 
Taconic (0-3) goes to Mount Everett on Saturday.
 
Monument Mountain finishes the season against Mount Greylock on Sunday.
