WORCESTER, Mass. — After reaching the Western Massachusetts Division III semifinal last year, Saint Joseph's head coach Paul Brindle entered this season with high expectations for his team.

In spite of a loss, Brindle saw his team's potential against one of the state's elite teams in Division I.

The Crusaders (2-1) lost 62-59 to Worcester's Holy Name (3-0) at the BasketBull Catholic School Showcase tournament at Assumption College.

Michael McMahon
had a team-high 16 points and Tank Roberson was held to 14 points, as St. Joe's could not contain Napoleon gaurd Jacek Louisville (23 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists).

Brindle believes his team played well, saying it had several opportunities to win in the waning minutes of the game, but was unable to convert a big play.

Michael Carpenter
had 15 rebounds and six assists for the Crusaders, who play their first division game on Friday, hosting Pittsfield High School at 7:30pm.
