Taconic Boys Earn Narrow Win over Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Sean Harrigan scored 20 points, and the Taconic boys basketball team overcame a fourth-quarter rally by Pittsfield to earn a 69-68 win on Tuesday night.
 
The Generals rallied from an eight-point deficit through three quarters, outscoring Taconic, 27-20, in the last eight minutes of the game.
 
Pittsfield’s Carter Mungin went 4-for-4 at the free throw line in the fourth and scored 10 of his game-high 25 points. Tobias Gaulden-Wheeler scored eight points in the quarter and finished the night with 23.
 
For Taconic, Sam Sherman and Tayvon Sandifer backed up Harrigan with 17 and 14, respectively.
 
Taconic (14-4) waits to learn Saturday where and against whom it will start play in the Western Massachusetts regional tournament.
 
Pittsfield (5-12) goes to Wahconah on Wednesday.
